One drive is Synced to this computer for Cyc's and Scripture Notes. These Cyc's are then to be loaded into Media Shout into the appropriate Cue. They can be dropped on the top of the old version.
When we put each Cyc into the MediaShout Cue, we drag them in straight from the One Drive folder, this ensures that the computer is kept clean and tidy, and will automatically delete the old content that we no longer use. To ensure nothing is deleted halfway through a service, its a good habit to pause one drive sync once everything is downloaded. (See picture Below)
Note: don't forget to unpause it at the end of the service!
A Cyc is short for cyclorama. This basically means a screen image.
All Cyc's are located in the One Drive sync folder. There are three different locations.
FileStore-AU - COMMS-AU > 01_WEEKEND SERVICES > 01. export > 01_am/02_PM > 16x9These are the main cycs that change for each season. This includes walk in, walk out, MC, Preach, Giving, Alter Call etc
FileStore-AU - COMMS-AU > 01_WEEKEND SERVICES > 01. export > extrasThese are the announcement (MC) cycs that advertise different events. For example; conference, tonight's preacher etc
FileStore-AU - COMMS-AU > 04_EVERY WEEK These cyc's are the one that we use that don't change often. For example; bible pickup, lower thirds etc
By defaut, MediaShout shows each cue (folder) as a big thumbnail. This uses more CPU and often crashes the program. To fix this, we just select 'Script Compact View' which essentially turns each cue into a folder. See below for where to find that setting.
Timers have a nice and neat control panel which sits nicely on the left hand side of the screen. When we first start the program, we need to resize the output and move it left to the second screen which displays on the foldback monitor. The clock is displayed on the lefthand side and timer on the right. We should always hide the timer side when a timer is not in use.
The preacher wil send us an email with his/her preach notes. Make sure to reply and acknowledge that we have received them.
We need to create a new script in media shout and using the insert bible feature, add each scripture incuding the correct version to the script. If the preacher is re-doing a preach they have done at a previous location, you may beable to find the existing MediaShout file on the google drive.
Make sure to save the script file to prevent losing everything if the program crashes or anything goes wrong.
Here is an Example on how to save the Preachers notes ;
DATE_LOCATION_SERVICE_PREACHER NAME_PreachName
20191206_BNEWEST_AM_Andrew_Midson_The_SeedThe preach notes are stored on the google drive for all campuses to access if needed.
The following is where we should save each MedioShout File.
Google Drive > Weekend Playbacks > 10 Scriptures > Preacher Name > Year If we have some images that goes with the preach, make sure to include those as well, just make a folder with the above naming convention and put everything inside the folder.
When adding some images into the script, often they do not fill the whole screen. Change the setting from 'Full Scale' to 'Full Stretch' Make sure to double check what it looks like on the screen since sometimes it can blow it out too much.
To add text to the script its quite the process;
Select 'Insert Text'
Add the text to the left hand side
Select the text
Cick 'Add Page' (you can add multiple pages)
Once the pages have come up, click on the desired template. (default is normally good)
Then select 'Insert'
